What is Live Art in Finnish? -DVD
Announcing the release of ‘What’s Live Art in Finnish?’ the latest DVD
publication in the liveartwork editions series.
What’s Live Art in Finnish? - an anthology of 18 Finnish live artists
——————————–
Released in January 2008 and available for order now, this double length DVD
features over 150 minutes of performance documentation from 18 of the most
active performance artists currently working in Finland.
Over the past few years the Finnish performance and live art scenes have
become very active, with several annual festivals taking place around the
country and regular performance events organised in Helsinki and other
cities. Although only presenting a small selection from the large number of
artists working with performance art in Finland, this DVD does feature work
by both well established and emerging artists and is intended as an
introduction to the dynamic Finnish live art scene.
The artists featured on the DVD are:
Annette Arlander, John Court, Maija Hirvanen, Helinä Hukkataival, Essi
Kausalainen, Leena Kela, Antti Laitinen, Hyun-Joo Min, Kukkia Group, Irma
Optimist, Mimosa Pale, Suvi Parrilla, Jouni Partanen, Pessi Parviainen, Roi
Vaara, Juha Valkeapää, Inari Virmakoski and Willem Wilhelmus.
The selection of work was curated by Suvi Parrilla and Leena Kela, both
emerging artists who are active in the Finnish performance art scene.
