    To the Dance Floor! is a physical story about the moments on which an old hit on a radio catches the knees and turns the kitchen to a dance floor. The piece presents dramas of the discotheque. The scream of James Brown, the knee turn of Michael Jackson and the slow dance at the end of the evening act as keys to these dramas. What are in search within the episodes are meetings in movement. Strange love songs and a possibility of change are in the air. All styles allowed?

    ’To the Dance Floor!’ is interested of the ethical basis of dance and movement. The piece approaches the relations of public and private dance and popular cultures effects to the comprehensions about the body.

    Mikä on liike, jonka huomasin Sinussa ensin? Mikä on paitasi merkki? Paljonko maksaa lento Bangkokiin? Lähdetäänkö?

    To the Dance Floor! on fyysinen kertomus hetkistä, joina radiosta kuuluva vanha hitti tarttuu polviin ja muuttaa keittiön tanssilattiaksi. Teos esittää discoteekin draamoja, joiden avaimia ovat James Brownin huuto, Michael Jacksonin polvikieppi ja hitaat illan lopussa. Näiden draamojen sisällä tapahtuu kohtaamisia liikkeessä. Ilmassa on kummia rakkauslauluja ja mahdollisuus muutokseen; kaikki tyylit sallittu?

    To the Dance Floor! on Maija Hirvasen tanssin ja liikkeen eettistä pohjaa tutkivan teossarjan ensimmäinen osa. Teos käsittelee tanssin kautta yksityisen ja julkisen tanssin suhdetta. Teos on kiinnostunut myös populaarikulttuurin vaikutuksista ihmisen kehokäsityksiin.
